The JDM programmer: (Category Other Programmers)

The JDM is the ideal programmer if you have a SMD Pic card with direct programming lines. Use ICprog and you can program the PIC and the eeprom independently. On the photo down here, you will notice a piece of cellotape, placed over the contacts 4 and 8 of the card. Some CAM's will not accept this card as a valid card if they detect those extra contacts. So if you're done programming, simply place a piece of cellotape over these contacts to fool your CAM :-))

The JDM is one of only few programmers that doesn't need an external power supply. It derives all power it needs, directly from the serial port. There is a potential problem in that however. Some laptops do not supply power to the serial port. So on such laptops the JDM will not operate.

Please make sure that you insert the cards with the contacts facing down because the programmers contacts are on the PCB.
