| Programming Titanium cards with BlackPro. This page is divided into 2 sections: 1. programming a Titanium card 2. updating the Operating System Programming a Titanium card: To program a Titanium card, you select the option Titanium form th menu at the top. There is no automatic card type detection for Titanium cards, so you will need to know if you card is a Titanium or not. Next you press Open COM (see below). ![]() The software will now try to contact the card. If there is a Titanium card in the programmer, the software will try to identify the card. If there is no card in your programmer yet, then put one in now. Then click Reset Card to start the card identification (see below). ![]() A great option of the BlackPro software, is the possibility to identify a card. Titanium cards are often addressed as "original" or "non-original". This is a remainder of the early period when the Titanium cards were still new on the market. I won't go into this matter any deeper here, but in fact the only thing that identifies a Titanium card as original or not, is a identification code which is programmed on the card. So contrary to what many people think, that has nothing to do with the components that are used on the card. It simply is the identification code. OK, enough about original or not. Most important is that BlackPro will distinguish the identification codes and is therefor able to warn you if your card has an ID which does not resemble the so called original card ID's. And it is a very simple procedure. You simply press Check Original and within a few seconds you have your answer. ![]() Apart from the above mentioned control functions, the BlackPro software does have a third ID check function. If you click the Identify button, the software will show you what software (O.S.) is currently installed on your card (see below). ![]() OK, let's start programming a card then. Click the button Load Flash and choose the desired flash file from the Open File dialog window. ![]() Now you do the same for the EEprom file. Click Load EEPROM and select the file (see below). ![]() Now click Write and watch your card being programmed (see below). ![]() When the card is ready, you will be notified (see below). That's how easy it is. ![]() Now that you card is ready, you only need to break the connection to the programmer by clicking Close COM (see below). You can take out your card now, it is ready for use. ![]() Updating the Operating System: Updating the Operating System (O.S.) of a Titanium card is very easy. As a sample, I will now update the O.S. of my card to version 1.06. It is done like this: Start the BlackPro software and click the option Titanium from the top menu. Click Open COM. In the bottom right of the screen click Write 1.06 (see below). ![]() First you will notice that the Flash and EEprom are programmed. The progress bars (see screenshot) will show you the progresss of the process. When completed programming the Flash and EEprom, the O.S. is actually loaded onto the card. There is a graphical representation of that process, shown on the picture of the Titanium card (see below). ![]() When the procedure is finished, the status of the card will be shown at the bottom of the screen. In this case it says that O.S. 1.06 is installed (see below). Your card is now reay to be programmed with the files of your choice. ![]() That's it. Success | |
