DMSSC - Installation |
|
| Because the installation procedure for DMSSC (or SC-Prog as it is sometimes called) is in German, I created this tutorial to guide you through the setup. Don't worry about the German here, the software itself is in English :-) Download both zip files from my site: SCPROG.ZIP & WinIO_Fix.zip and save them on your harddisk. Extract the SCPROG.ZIP to a temporary directory. After extraction, you should have these 3 files in the temporary directory: - Setup.lst - Setup.exe - Mpdmssp.cab Now double click Setup.exe to start the setup procedure. This is the screen you get. It is the standard warning message, telling you to close all applications before you continue. If you are sure, that no other applications are running, then click OK.
Now you are shown a new window, telling you that the program will be installed to the subdirectory C:\Program Files\MPDMSSP. You can change the target directory if you like by clicking the button "Verzeichnis wechseln". If you agree to the proposed installation directory, Click the PC Icon.
From the next menu, select the Program Group. The default proposal is Digital Mode Switch SC Programmer. Click Weiter when you are satisfied with the group name.
If you have installed another version of this software before, you get to see this warning message. It tells you that another version is found on your PC and asks you what you wat to do: - keep the existing file, discarding the new one (click Ja ). - overwrite this specific existing file (click Nein ). - overwrite all existing files without further asking (click Nein für alle ). I would suggest that you just overwrite all, so press Nein für alle. That will guarantee a completely new installation.
If all goes well, you should get this message, telling you that the installation was successfull.
That's it. You installation is now complete. However, for some environments, another version of the .exe file may be required. So, if you get this error message when you start DMSSC:
Copy the WINIO.DLL and WINIO.SYS from your Windows System directory to the application directory. The default application directory is C:\Program Files\MPDMSSP. If that does not solve the problem, try the following: Go to the download section and download the WinIO_Fix.zip from the DMSSC folder. Unzip the .exe file to the program directory (default directory is C:\Program Files\MPDMSSP ). Now the software should run without any problems. | |
