Gold*Card |
|
| Working with Gold*Card. Gold*Card will work with real Gold/Millenium programmers and with the MasterA-II in Mode F. Connect your programmer to the PC. Make sure a proper power supply is connected to the programmer. Insert your card and start the software. After you start Gold*Card, you will first be asked to define the Com Port the programmer is connected to. By default, Com 1 is used. Leave the Baudrate on 9600. Click OK.
After having confirmed the Port configuration, Gold*Card will continue and starts checking the programmer hardware and the card. If everything is found to be OK, you will see a screen like the one down here.
First you will need to check/alter some of the programs options: - Under "Oscillator", check "XT" - Under "Power Up" check "Enabled" for the 16F84 or "Disabled" for the 16C84. - Under "Protection" click "Disabled" - Under "Watchdog" click "Disabled"
If everything is OK, you will notice the word Ready twice in the upper right corner. If not, you will either be in demo mode or have some error message on your screen. Proceed if everything is OK. Click the "Eeproms" tab. Open the File menu and choose "Load Hex File".
Select the desired eeprom file.
Below you can see that if the Hex file is loaded, the main screen is file with data. Click the Program button on the right in your screen. First you will see Gold*Card loading the PIC with a loader file. Immediately after loading the loader file, the eeprom will be programmed. A progress bar is visible at the top of the screen. In the red bar, the program will show what it is doing at any given moment.
Note: After programming the eeprom, you will always need to program the PIC again with the actual PIC file. Because of the loader file technique, your original PIC data will be overwritten by the loader file. Click the "PIC's" tab. From the File menu choose "Load Hex File".
Select the desired PIC file.
After the PIC file is loaded, you will notice that the main screen is no longer blank. It contains data now.
Press the Program button on the right. You will see Gold*Card starts loading the PIC with the selected file. A progress bar is visible at the top of the screen. In the red bar, the program will show what it is doing at any given moment.
At the end of the process, if everything went OK, the message Ready appears (right top). Also a popup window will appaer to confirm that verifying the Pic was successfull.
Your card is ready for use now. | |
