MasterBurner - Copying |
|
| Copying a Funcard with MasterBurner: On this page I will show you how easy it is to copy a card with MasterBurner. The procedure is identical for all card types. As a sample, I will copy a Funcard here. First you click on the QUICK icon in the top right corner of the screen.
From the pull down menu on the right, select the Funcard.
Press Write. It might seem strange, but you will need to press the Write icon indeed. The process will first start with reading your master, so you need not worry that your master might be overwritten.
You will see a pop up, telling you to insert the master. So do insert the Funcard you want to copy at this time and press OK.
If you have selected a wrong card type or if the Card is copy protected, the software will warn you. A pop up will occur, telling you that the device is locked. Check to see if the card type you selected is OK. If you did not select the correct card type, you will not be able to copy the card. Otherwise select the correct type now and try again.
If the card is recognized and it is not copy protected, the program code will be read first. You will see a timeline indicating the progress of this stage.
Don't worry if you will see a message nofifying you that there is new data being written to the card. This step is necessary in order to read the eeprom data. After having read the eeprom data, the program code will be restored. Here is a list of the individual steps in the copy process: - read the program code - program a loader file to the card - read the eeprom data - restore the original program code
When all data is read from the card, and the master is restored to its original state, the program will ask you to insert a new card to copy the data to. Please be aware that the program will only be able to copy identical card types. It is not possible to copy the content from a Funcard to a Silvercard for instance. There is just one exception. The eeprom on the target card does not have to be the same size as the one on the master. It just needs to be large enough to hold all the data, read from the master. So, if you would use a Funcard 2 as a master (90S8515 + 24C64) and create a copy on a Funcard 3 (90S8515 + 24C128) that would not be a problem. The processor types are identical and the eeprom sive is large enough. So now insert the target card and press OK.
The software will now write the data to the target card, thus creating an exact copy of the master. You can see the progress at the bottom of the screen.
Just wait until the process is ready. You will see a notice at the bottom when it is done. | |
