| Destroyed your original SECA MOSC?? Used Cardtuner and cannot edit your card anymore?? Performed a v6 card extraction in MKF that went wrong?? Tried to manipulate your card with Matrixstudio and are stuck?? Well, don't despair just yet, there might be a way to rescue your card. I will explain 2 procedures on the following pages: 1. Restore Faulty MOSC procedure(non-destructive to your Channel Provider Data) 2. Recreate Virgin MOSC procedure(destructive to your Channel Provider Data) But before you start, you will need to try and find out what has gone wrong first. If you are lucky, nothing has been lost yet, but just moved to another memory location on the card. If that's the case, you can most probably restore your card to its full original state. If you are unlucky, you may have destroyed the info on the card. If that's the case, your only chance is to recreate the card to its virgin state and then use the old log data to restore the card to its original state. If you are really very very unlucky and have not only destroyed your card but also haven't got a log of the original data, then your only option left, is to restore the card to a original virgin state and use it as a non Auto Updating card from now on. So in that case, you need to manually edit the keys on your card whenever they are changed. So how do you go about?? There are several indicators to look out for, but it makes life a lot easier if you know where or when it has gone wrong. If you don't know where it went wrong, try to find out by carefully analysing your card. Start MKFind and connect to your card. If the first provider on the card is named SECA , then that's OK, but if the first provider is called Satbandit © , then you may have already found part of the cause of your problems. The Satbandit © trademark is part of the automatic modification procedure in Cardtuner. Normaly that procedure in itself doesn't introduce problems, but adding more providers with the same procedure, and then deleting them again, will sometimes introduce strange anomalies on your card. You can check for such anomalies by using MKF. Start MKF and click on "Card Layout", that will produce a list of supported Providers on the card. If there are either blank lines in the list, or if there are Providers with an unknown Provider ID and either no Name, or with a non-existing Name, you have found your anomaly. Try to make a log of your cards essential data with MKFind first (if you haven't got an original one yet). If you are not yet familiar with MKFind, you might need to turn to the MKF pages for some functions. Go to "Card Records" and press the "Get Records" button. Leave the "MaxProvider" and "Overwrite" options open for now (do not tick). Now double click on the key value in the "Primary Key00" field of Provider 00. Without this key, you cannot extract the rest. Then select the option "Extract System Key 00" from the menu (see screenshot).
If the System Key extraction failed, you might try the Restore Faulty MOSC procedure. If the System Key extraction was successfull, just continue extracting all other keys. Double click on the key values in all the other records and from the menu select "Get Full Key". If you have done that for all records, you (hopefully) have recovered the most essential data to restore your card. Save your log by clicking the disk icon, or use the File menu option "Save As".
Should the procedure fail, then please try again with the MaxProvider option ticked this time. Should that fail too, I'm affraid there is no standard solution for your problem. The only two options you have left then are: 1. find someone more knowledgeable to try and fix the problem 2. run the Recreate Virgin MOSC procedure | |
