Plainkeysfriend is a program for creating your own CRD files for use with Irdeto. CRD files come in very handy when updating your card only partially.
You will need a Phoenix interface to program the CRD files to your card. You can use any software program, capable of handling CRD files, to update your card. Such software is for instance CardMaster or CardWizzard.
Plainkeysfriend is downloadable from the download section.
You will need to know a few things before you can start using Plainkeysfriend:
- is the card you are using a acs 1.2, 1.4 or 1.6??
- does the provider you are creating the CRD for, using provider 00 or 10??
- what key does the provider use for its transmissions??
If you are not familiar with these terms, you are not yet ready to use this program.
In that case, I suggest that you start looking for some documentation on this subject.
There is a Dummy FAQ in the download section, but it is in German.
On the other hand, if you know what all of the above means, just go ahead and have fun.
Start the program and it will present a disclaimer about the use of the software.
Just answer OK and the main program screen will open.
OK, let's create a CRD file to update our Irdeto smart card.
Just assume we want to create a CRD for C+ and for a acs 1.2 type card.
You should know that C+ uses provider 00 and key 02 for its transmissions.
On the left hand of the screen click on ACS 1.2 and key 02.
Then in the top middle of the screen, check Provider 00.
Now we need to enter the actual plainkey in the designated field.
Click the button "Plainkey CRD schreiben".
The following text will appear in the "Plainkey - CRD" window.
Next you need to enter the C+ channel ID, for example CHID FFF2.
Enter the ID code in the appropriate field (see below).
Click the button called "Chanel ID eintragen".
The following text will appear in the "Channel ID - CRD" window.
By now, your screen looks like this:
Now click the button "Plainkey CRD & Channel ID CRD hier einfügen" (see below).
The following text will appear in the "Komplette CRD" window.
Before saving the CRD file, you will need to remove the blank lines between 2 consecutive CRD commands.
So after having deleted those blank lines, your CRD window will look like this:
Now enter the file name and location to store the CRD file (see below).
Click the button "Komplette CRD Speichern".
That's all there is to it :-))
You can use this method to put multiple providers on your card.
But be aware to avoid blank lines in your CRD file because they will cause your CRD file to fail updating the card.
Also be careful not to use the same key twice.
The result will be either 1 working provider or no working provider at all, but certainly not 2 working providers.
To update your card with the new CRD file, you will need a Phoenix interface and a software program like CardMaster or CardWizzard.
