QuickHex III |
|
| QuickHex III is a really easy-to-use piece of software for creating a basic file set. The program generates a eeprom code, allready containing OnDigital provider ID's (OD1 thru OD4). If you don't want to use them, just overwrite them. Most files are Secanix based and can therefor easily be edited using the Secanix editor. As said, it's really easy. After starting QuickHex III you will first see a Splash Screen. Just click anywhere in the Splash Screen and the program will be opened. From the pull down menu, choose the file type that best fits your requirements.
In the bottom left corner of the screen ('HEXInfo(tm)' and 'Special Features??'), you get some brief information about chosen the file set. But there is more detailed information available too, should you need it. By selecting 'View Hex Readme' from the 'Tools' menu, a new window is opened, displaying additional information about the selected file type, see the screenshot below. There is lots of valueble information to be obtained here, like specific features of the file set, what editor to use for modifying the files to your needs etc.
If you have made your pick, you're ready to generate the files that you need. It's up to you if you would like to generate single files (Eeprom, Pic of Loader) 1-by-1, or all 3 at once. Whether or not you need the loader file, depends on the software you use for programming your card. A nice feature is the Scratchpad, down right. It allows you to make notes of things that could matter. For example to write down the old keys before you overwrite them with new ones. The Scratchpad will be saved upon program exit.
Another very usefull feature is the possibility to 'translate' the keys into Remote Codes. Remote Codes are used to update your receiver with new codes from your remote control, rather than writing new keys to your card with the use of a programmer. Just follow the instructions in the screen down here.
That's all. Have fun. | |
